In Memory

Nancy Tamplin (Chivers)

Nancy Tamplin (Chivers)

Nancy Jane Tamplin Chivers went to be with our Lord on June 19, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born on June 1, 1953, in Kerrville, Texas and was adopted by her parents Edith Laurice and James Horace Tamplin just two days later.

Nancy attended high school in Kerrville and then in San Antonio and graduated from MacArthur High School.

As a single mom, she worked tirelessly her whole life to provide an amazing life for her daughter. She was someone that you could not forget once you met her. She loved deeply and cared for so many. She never hesitated to help out a friend in need.

She was a member of Bulverde Baptist Church, then a founding member of First Baptist Church of Bulverde (now Grace Fellowship). She then joined Community Bible Church Bulverde (now Home Church) and found that to be her permanent church home. She was a member of Hermann Sons Fraternal Insurance for 65 years.

Her greatest joy in life, aside from her daughter, was watching her two grandchildren grow into the amazing adults they have become. She was able to scratch off one of her bucket list items last year when she went on a cruise to Alaska. She wasn’t a fan of the boat, but she fell in love with Alaska while she was there and her final wish was to have her ashes spread there.

She passed peacefully at her home in Spring Branch surrounded by her three kitties who miss her so much: Pippa, Tink, and Lucy.

Nancy was greeted at the gates of heaven by her father, James Tamplin and both her mother Laurice and her stepmother Dorothy. She was also greeted by her loving cousin Jeannie, and two brothers-in-law, James and Randy Chivers and her daughter’s step-mother, Sandra (Sandi) Chivers. She is survived by her loving daughter Crystal Bush and husband Chris of Spring Branch, grandson Bailey Bush of Spring Branch, granddaughter Amethyst Bush and fiancé Kevin Jernigan of Dale, ex-husband and best friend William (Bill) Chivers and wife Jane of Fredericksburg, brother-in-law Mike Chivers of Fredericksburg, sister-in-law Mary (Sis) Chivers of Schertz, aunt Sr. Margaret Renken of San Antonio, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life on July 26th at 2 pm at Rebecca Creek Park Pavilion (576 Cypress Cove Rd, Spring Branch, TX 78070).

In Lieu of flowers, if you so wish, you can donate funds to help the family fulfill her final wishes of spreading her ashes in Alaska. venmo: @Crystal_Bush_RN; cash app: $CrystalBushRN; put Alaska in the notes.

So sad to hear about Nancy's passing. She fought hard against the damned disease cancer.  I used to represent a Municipal Utility District in Spring Branch, Texas. Nancy was on the Board of Direcrors and I enjoyed working with her and the board. We kept in touch over the years. Nancy was a great person with a great heart. She will be missed.- Les

I didnt know much about Nancy while schoolmates at Mac but I distinctly remember her. She had a way of standing out - in a good way.  Anyone who knew her would likely agree.

Once FB came along, Nancy became one of my 'friend' favorites.  It was easy to enjoy the give & take Nancy gave on FB about her hard scrabble life.  She wasnt shy.   I picked up early on Nancy was a 'scrapper.'  She stood up for what she believed.  It was quite apparent she adored her daughter & her grandkids.

I believe the last time I saw Nancy was at the 40 yr reunion.   She is missed.
