Mark Goebel Obituary

Mark James Goebel, 63, was born on March 25, 1954 and passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas.
Mark had a big heart and was full of love and kindness. He loved deep sea fishing, boating at Lake LBJ, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. Most recently he enjoyed his work that took him to St. Thomas, USVI. He worked hard and loved sharing in his accomplishments with those around him.
Mark's courage and fighting spirit from his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer was something that demonstrated to all who knew him to be strong, enjoy each moment, and laugh together. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his perseverance, and his overwhelming commitment to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Harold Goebel and Mary Kathryn Luce Goebel.
He was loved, cherished and is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra 'Barbie' Ann Stone Goebel, son, Aaron David Goebel, daughter, Courtney Anne Ruse and husband Timothy Sean Ruse, two grand
children, Kevin Sean Ruse and Taylor Courtney Ruse, step- children, Brooke Ann Stone and Troy 'Bubba' Allen Stone II, his six siblings, brothers John Stuart Goebel, Stephen Roger Goebel, and Peter Luce Goebel and wife Laura Houser Goebel, sisters Corene Goebel Dyer, Jane Goebel Tomaszewski and husband Gary Tomaszewski , and Mary Christine Goebel Volkmer and Sherry Wood, and 20 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 2:00pm on June 23, 2017. Reception to follow.
