I remember coming to school in the morning and was stunned to hear the terrible news that my friend, Chester had died as a result of a tragic accident.

I considered Chester as one of my closer school friends.  We were both of similar stature & non-athletic.  So we shared the experience of being the last remaining guys yet to be picked for team sports in PE class.  Chester would always make fun of me for my fondness of watching the TV series, "Gunsmoke."  He thought it was so uncool.....lol.  But we both enjoyed reviewing & laughing about the latest episode of "All In The Family."

Of course I went to Chester's funeral as well as a lot of Mac classmates.  It was a somber experience especially since it was the first time I was hit with the realization that all of us are mortal even in youth.  Scott Seideman was kind enough to give me a lift to the funeral in his Beetle and on the way I remember hearing the song,  "Baby Blue" by Badfinger......just snippets of my memory.
